Starting weight: 142 lbs
That is not a baby bump lol... That just means I could probably be doing more crunches!
On Wednesday, Feb. 2 we had our first doctor's appt!
I'm seeing a midwife named Joanne Kort. It's really neat because her and her husband run this clinic called Renew Clinic and Spa and he is a doctor (and would be my doctor incase i need a C-section) and she is a certified Midwife with a master's degree in nursing.
I was asked a lot of questions about personal and family medical history. My blood pressure and heart rate were normal.
I Weighed in at 142.
(Joanne said I should gain about 20-30lbs)
We got to look on an ultrasound but all you could see was my uterus.

Jessica is doing a research project on the development of prenatal care over 3 generations so I'll be jotting down notes for her here:
Notes:
- My midwife recommended taking Omega-3 Fish Oil supplements because it contains DHA which helps develop the baby's brain and nervous system. She said there are studies that show it might even increase the baby's IQ lol! So hey what the heck!
- She said I should stop taking it a couple weeks before my due date because it may cause me to bleed more... I dont know if that means it affects clotting or if it thins the blood.. idk.
- One cup of coffee is ok a day but I'm supposed to stay away from Caffeine.
- She recommended doing at least 30 kegel exercises everyday haha!
- Gain about 20-30lbs.
- Don't Garden or change cat litter because of Toxoplasmosis... but I think I am probably already immune to it since I've been exposed to so many cats in my life.
- Don't eat fish containing high amounts of mercury.
- No X-Rays.
- I can't help around the anesthesia at work. (We use Isoflurane gas which is potentially really bad for the fetus)
