Week 16

This week the baby is the size of an Avocado! 

Its about 4.6 inches (crown to rump) and about 3.4 oz!

Its so crazy because we could find out the sex any day now! I'm hoping to possibly find out on Wednesday but we'll see! =)

I officially know that I felt the baby move Friday April 22 right around lunch time! It was the same little spasm I had felt before just a little more noticeable. I have felt it a couple times since then and its sooo cool! Its so good to know that its in there moving around and active. When ever I feel it I try to stop what i'm doing and enjoy the moment lol! I can't wait for the movements to be stronger so Garrett can feel it! 

Its kinda funny cuz I read that the baby is peeing in there about every 45 minutes which creates more amniotic fluid! So its kidneys are working and bile is being secreted in its stomach. The human is an amazing machine. 

On a more personal note- The other day I started feeling a weird pressure 'down there" and I got kinda worried, but, after googling it, I read to elevate my pelvis and do some stretches and exercises and that totally helped and I haven't had that problem since! It apparently was just the pressure of my uterus and possibly that I had been lifting dog food and running around all day... I'm gonna ask my doctor on Wednesday what my max lifting weight should be... even though the dog food only gets up to about 30 lbs. 

I've been more tired lately and more irritable. I'm definitely more liable to snap at people and I feel bad when I take it out on Garrett but he's been very patient and forgiving of me lol!

Anyway! Hopefully I'll have some news on Wednesday! =)

Week 15

This week the little guy is the size of an apple =)

The baby is about 4 inches and weighs a little over 2 ounces!! 

It can make facial expressions like frowning and smiling and can even suck its thumb <3

Its also moving around like crazy in there even though I probably am not feeling it yet! 

Even though I want to believe that I am, it is probably muscle spasms and gas still... 

But they say that between 16 and 20 weeks is when you start feeling it, so I am going to try to be conscious of any movement I feel in there! 

The baby also has eye brows and is getting hair all over its body called "Lanugo" which it will lose sometime in the 3rd trimester before it's born! 

Its possible to find out the sex this week too but its not as accurate. 

Everything is still going smoothly! I have been so lucky so far! <3 Thanks to everyone for your love, support and excitement to encourage me!!

Week 14

This week the baby's the size of a lemon! 

About 3.5 inches (crown to rump) and about 1.4 oz.

It has tastebuds and fingerprints and has more reflexive movements now. Apparently if I poke in on my stomach and put pressure on it it may start rooting around in there lol!

I'm officially in my 2nd trimester (if I wasn't before... because every website is different lol.)

I think I've gained about 4lbs by now and I feel like I'm kind of at an awkward stage where I just look bloated. When my bladder is full you can definitely feel my uterus or "fundus"(which is the top part of the uterus) lol!

I swear I have felt movement when my bladder is really full also! But still can't know for sure =)

I finally started going to Yoga so I am really excited to start stretching again! Man I am getting stiff.

 And my friend Chelsea (another Coastie wife) is going to start doing mommy & baby yoga at the rec center in November so I cant wait for that!! haha! It's crazy that we could find out the sex in TWO weeks!!! I think we will still wait until 20 weeks but we have to think of a clever way to tell everyone haha =)

Week 13!

Weight Gain: 4 lbs

I think the kiwi last week was a little bigger than this egg lol! 

But the baby is about 3 inches this week!! 

We got to hear the baby's heartbeat this week!! It was awesome! Its heart rate was 130 bpm and normal is in between 120-170 i think. <3

I think the spasms I have been feeling are actual muscle spasms... now that I can feel where my uterus is I can tell that a lot of the spasms are above my uterus... Some are still questionable tho. =) 

I told my midwife about them and she just nodded... I guess I should've formed it into a question instead of just telling her about it. 

I've definitely been a little more emotional this week... a few times on the verge of tears over dumb things or movies. But no real break downs yet lol.

Oh! And I made Garrett go with me all the way to Chipotle today (an hour away) lol! He's been so awesome this whole time. He did make me scratch his back in return haha but I figured thats more than a fair trade. 

Last thing- There is this test that you can buy at the grocery store called "Intelligender" that you pee in and it predicts the baby's gender and I was going to try it but then decided not to because the suspense will make it more exciting and I think that thing is a hoax anyway.
